We are lead by Elders

Pastor, elder or overseer is the same office. Scripture uses the term’s interchangeably and never makes a distinction.

Elders are plural (never just one) group of qualified men called by God to shepherd the local church. Elders do this through through serving in prayer and ministry of the word (Acts 6:2). Scripture gives fairly large list on how this is done. Elders preach and teach the Word (Acts 6:2; 1 Tim 3:2; 2 Tim 4:2). They care for and watch over the church (1 Tim 3:5; 1 Pet 5:2) by teaching and equipping the body,  praying for it (James 5:14) and guarding it against false doctrine (Acts 20:28-29).

Elders are to lead well (1 Tim 5;17) as examples of Godly living (1 Tim 5:17; 1 Pet 5:3) and servant leadership.

We are Congregational Governed

We believe (according to the congregational principle) that each member has the privilege and responsibility to use his/her gifts and abilities to participate fully in the life of the Church. God gifts His Church with Overseers (who are called Pastors or Elders) and Deacons (as mentioned above), who serve the congregation and are accountable to it.

It is the privilege and responsibility of every member to participate in the appointment of the church’s leaders.

The constituted church meeting, subject to the direct Lordship of Christ and the authority of Scripture, is the highest court of authority for the local Church.
